A rock opera about a demagogue who seizes power and ushers in the end of everything, written as a critique of the forces it impersonates. Produced by the band with Trent Reznor, Sean Beavan and Dave Ogilvie, it welds industrial grind to glam theatrics and metal weight across seventeen tracks, from 'The Beautiful People' and 'Tourniquet' through the closing drift of 'Man That You Fear'. Waxwork's thirtieth anniversary edition brings the album back to tape, which is how a good many people first heard it.
