Released on Kitty Records in March 1981, The Rainbow Goblins is Takanaka's ninth album and a jazz fusion landmark. It is a full concept record built from Ul de Rico's picture book of the same name, with short narrations carrying you through the story between passages of bright, virtuosic, endlessly melodic guitar. He performed it live in its entirety at Nippon Budokan on the day it came out. This edition is the Kitty Japan reissue.
