Album Facts
Metro Area - Metro Area 4 Vinyl 12"
The last of the four. The most assured of them too.
- The fourth and final Metro Area EP, originally issued in 2001
- Longer tracks and heavier percussion than the earlier EPs
- Environ reissue pressing
The last of the four Environ 12" singles, and the most assured. Geist and Jesrani push a little further out here, letting tracks run longer and leaning harder on percussion, but the discipline that defines the series is intact: nothing extra, nothing decorative, every part audible. Taken with the first three EPs it completes one of the most quietly influential runs in American dance music, the one that reconnected house to disco without nostalgia. Reissued by Environ. Worth owning as a set, though this one holds up fine on its own.
