MF DOOM/Metal Fingers - Special Herbs Vol. 1 & 2 CD
DOOM's beat-tape spice rack, every track named for an herb.
- MF DOOM's instrumental Special Herbs series, Vol. 1 & 2, as Metal Fingers
- Every beat named after an herb, root or spice
- Sample-rich productions built from soul, funk, R&B and rap nostalgia
Special Herbs Vol. 1 & 2 opens MF DOOM's celebrated instrumental series, released under his Metal Fingers alias, with every beat named after an herb, root or spice. It gathers series exclusives alongside instrumental versions of tracks he produced for himself and others, built from 70s soul and funk, 80s R&B, rap nostalgia and snippets of children's records and TV. Loose, warm and endlessly sample-rich, it captures the sound that made the Super-Villain one of hip-hop's most influential producers, and it doubles as an ideal soundtrack for reading, working or late-night listening. A Rhymesayers CD reissue.
