Welcome Home is where Osibisa's sweetness peaks. Cut in 1975 with Gerry Bron producing, it opens on "Sunshine Day", the song that carried them furthest, and keeps that warmth through "Densu", "Uhuru" and "Kolomashie". Teddy Osei, Mac Tontoh and Sol Amarfio built the band from West African and Caribbean players living in London, and this is the record where highlife, soul and rock finally sit together without any of them raising a voice. Pressed on psychedelic splatter vinyl for indie retail. Street date: September 11.
