OutKast - Aquemini (Import) (Pink Splatter Color) Vinyl LP
Where OutKast stopped choosing between rap group and band.
- Two-disc UK import pressing on pink splatter colored vinyl
- OutKast's 1998 third album, drawing on funk, southern soul, gospel and country
- Includes Rosa Parks, SpottieOttieDopaliscious and Synthesizer with George Clinton
OutKast's third album is where the duo stopped choosing between rap record and band record and simply made both. Organized Noize, the pair themselves and Mr. DJ share the production, and 1970s funk, southern soul, gospel, country and psychedelic rock all turn up without the seams showing. Rosa Parks, SpottieOttieDopaliscious and Da Art of Storytellin' sit alongside Synthesizer, where George Clinton turns up sounding entirely at home. It is two writers realizing the form would stretch as far as they cared to take it. This Sony UK pressing spreads it over two pink splatter discs. Street date: October 30.
