The second OutKast album pulled the group out of the party and into orbit. Organized Noize handled roughly two thirds of it while the duo and Mr. DJ took the rest as Earthtone III, and the result is cooler, stranger and more interior than the debut. Dub space and gospel undertow run beneath Elevators (Me & You), Wheelz of Steel and the title track, and Andre's writing turns inward in a way that set up everything after it. This Sony UK pressing puts it on two marbled emerald green discs. Street date: October 30.
