Radiohead's seventh album arrived in October 2007 as a pay-what-you-want download, their first release after the EMI contract ended, and the release model took most of the headlines. The record earned them anyway. Sessions with Spike Stent stalled, so the band took the songs on the road and then re-enlisted Nigel Godrich, recording in country houses in Somerset and Wiltshire. What came out is the warmest and most rhythmically alive album they have made, conventional rock instrumentation wired into electronics, strings and ondes Martenot. Includes 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Reckoner and Jigsaw Falling Into Place.
