Ras G left behind more music than he released, and the Raw Fruit series is how it keeps arriving. Volumes 7 and 8 collect beats built the way he always built them: dusty, off-grid, heavy on low end and space, with samples left ragged rather than smoothed out. There is no polish here and none was wanted. The Los Angeles beat scene he helped shape through Poo-Bah and the Leimert Park orbit is all over these tracks, and so is the Afrofuturist streak that ran through everything he touched. Pressed across two LPs on yellowjacket fleck splatter vinyl.
