- Two white LPs in a full colour sleeve
Dame Fortune is RJD2's Philadelphia record. The sixth album leans into the city's soul tradition, all Rhodes, horns and loose drums, with Son Little, Jordan Brown, Phonte Coleman and Blueprint taking vocals across it. The sampling never leaves, but it sits under live playing rather than standing in for it, and the result is warmer than anything he had made to that point. Released on his own label in 2016, it is the one to reach for if the early sample collages have ever struck you as cold. Pressed across two white LPs in a full colour sleeve.
