Ryo Fukui recorded this across two nights at the Lutheran Hall in Sapporo in June 1994, and it is the only solo piano album he ever made. Seventeen years had passed since Mellow Dream. Alone at the instrument he revisits Scenery and Mellow Dream, adds Voyage and Nord, both written on a journey north, and plays Nobody's as a nod to his mentor Barry Harris. What comes through is the bebop weight he spent two decades building sitting right next to the Hokkaido stillness that never left him. Pressed in Japan on 180g uncolored virgin vinyl, free of carbon and pigment.
