Inspired by Kazumasa Hirai's Wolf Guy novels, the title track and the loping, nostalgic Harappa let Nakamura's sax move boldly through carefully placed silence, while standards Body & Soul and I Can't Get Started get warm, unhurried readings. Toshiyuki Daitoku, Aki Takase, and Ryojiro Furusawa round out the session. A striking, spacious late-70s Japanese jazz record for saxophone fans.
