Album Facts
Steve Lacy - Gemini Rights
The Internet's guitarist goes solo and makes it look easy
- RCA vinyl pressing of Steve Lacy's 2022 sophomore album Gemini Rights
- The Internet member's commercial breakthrough, blending bedroom funk with breezy guitar pop
- Includes Bad Habit, Mercury, Static, and Sunshine
Gemini Rights is Steve Lacy's 2022 second album, the one where the guitarist from The Internet stepped fully into the spotlight on his own terms. It's bedroom funk grown up: loose, sunny guitar pop with bruised, funny lyrics about love going sideways. "Bad Habit" became the song everybody knew, but "Mercury," "Static" and "Sunshine" with Fousheé show the range. Lacy writes, plays and produces with the same casual ease he brought to sessions for Kendrick Lamar, Solange and Tyler, the Creator. A modern R&B essential on vinyl.
