Texas Flood is Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's 1983 debut, the record that arrived when the blues was no longer hip and made it exciting all over again. Produced by the band and cut in a few days at Jackson Browne's Los Angeles studio, it captures Vaughan's ferocious, Hendrix-and-Albert-King-schooled guitar almost live. It kicks off with Love Struck Baby and Pride and Joy, builds through the slow-burning title track, Dirty Pool and I'm Cryin', and closes with the tender instrumental Lenny, a tribute to his wife. An import 180g LP pressing.
