Big Wave came out of a 1984 surf film and is the only Yamashita album recorded entirely in English. Half of it is his own writing, half is Beach Boys material rebuilt from the inside, and the whole thing is engineered to sound like the middle of July. "Magic Ways" and the title theme carry it, with the vocal stacking he is known for pushed to its limit. This thirtieth anniversary edition is remastered and adds seven bonus tracks.
