The Milky Way - Summer-Time Love Song Vinyl LP
Matsushita two years before First Light, and already there.
- First official reissue of the 1979 Seven Seas album
- Produced by Makoto Matsushita with Yasuaki Shimizu among the players
- Remastered with original artwork, obi strip and a four-page booklet
Makoto Matsushita produced Summer-Time Love Song in 1979, two years before First Light, and you can hear him working out the ideas that would define that record. Released on Seven Seas in Japan and never officially reissued until now, it gathers the cream of Tokyo session players including Yasuaki Shimizu for a set that moves through AOR, jazz fusion, funk and bossa nova without hurrying any of it. Jobim's "Wave" and Boz Scaggs's "Harbor Lights" get read in the same relaxed register. Remastered, with the original artwork, an obi strip and a four-page booklet.
