Album Facts
The Stooges - Fun House (Rocktober 2026) (Rhino Hifi) Vinyl LP
1970, recorded live in the room, still barely contained
- Rhino High Fidelity edition, cut from the original analog tape
- The 1970 album, cut live in the studio with nothing to hide behind
- Ron Asheton's fuzz and Steve Mackay's saxophone at full volume
Fun House was recorded in 1970 with the band playing live in the room, amps up, no safety net, and it still sounds like something the tape could barely hold. Ron Asheton's guitar is pure fuzz and menace, Iggy Pop lands somewhere between preacher and threat, and by the time Steve Mackay's saxophone shows up the record has stopped being rock and roll and started being weather. 'T.V. Eye,' 'Dirt,' 'L.A. Blues.' This Rhino High Fidelity edition is cut from the analog tape. Street date: October 30.
