The second volume widens the map. Egyptian organ funk, Moroccan disco, a slice of Libya's reggae scene, political songs from Lebanon, Algerian soundtrack music and a collaboration between Kenyan and Omani musicians. As with the first volume this is a personal selection rather than a history lesson, and it deliberately avoids the famous names in favour of artists who were overlooked at the time and mostly still are. The range is the point: these records were never a single scene and they do not sound like one. Two LPs, licensed directly from the artists and their families.
