Habibi Funk describes a sound rather than a genre: music from across the Arab world where local traditions met soul, funk, disco, rock and whatever else was in the air. Fifteen artists here, recorded in places far apart and under very different conditions, some in wartime and some in exile. Fadoul, Ahmed Malek, Dalton and Al Massrieen sit next to Kamal Keila, Sharhabeel Ahmed, Attarazat Addahabia and Mallek Mohamed.
