Various - Final Fantasy 40th Anniversary: The Crystal Edition Vinyl LP
One track per mainline Final Fantasy, I through XVI.
- Sixteen tracks, one from each mainline game from Final Fantasy to XVI
- Follows the series from chiptune through to full orchestration
- Two LPs, street date January 22, 2027
Forty years of Final Fantasy, one track per mainline game, running from the 1987 original through to Final Fantasy XVI. The sequence does what a career retrospective rarely manages: heard in order, you can follow the music out of three-channel chiptune and into full orchestration without ever losing the series' particular melodic signature. Main Theme, Theme of Love, One-Winged Angel, To Zanarkand and Blinded by Light all sit here, sixteen pieces chosen to carry sixteen games. Square Enix assembles it for the anniversary. Pressed across two LPs. Street date: January 22.
