Yoko Shimomura wrote Legend of Mana in 1999 as a set of small worlds rather than a single sweep, and the score moves the same way: chamber strings, acoustic guitar, hand percussion and a recurring melody that turns up transposed into half a dozen moods. It is among the most requested of her scores and among the most difficult to find outside Japan. This two-disc Japanese edition carries all fifty-five tracks, including the vocal "Song of Mana".
