Various - Menace II Society (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (180g) Vinyl LP
Where hip-hop stood in 1993, coast to coast, on 180g 2LP
- The 1993 soundtrack featuring MC Eiht's 'Streiht Up Menace'
- Tracks from Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, UGK, Boogie Down Productions and Spice 1
- Two 180g records, Music On Vinyl pressing
The Hughes brothers' 1993 debut got a soundtrack that works as a snapshot of where hip-hop actually stood that year, and it refuses to pick a coast. MC Eiht's 'Streiht Up Menace' is the centerpiece, written from inside the film's world. Around it: Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth's 'Death Becomes You', UGK's Port Arthur remix of 'Pocket Full of Stones', Boogie Down Productions revisiting 'P Is Still Free' with DJ Premier behind the boards, plus Spice 1, Too Short, Brand Nubian and Da Lench Mob. Hi-Five's 'Unconditional Love' provides the one moment of air. Pressed on two 180g records.
