With a Hammer is the 2023 debut album from Yaeji, the Queens-born producer, DJ and vocalist raised between Seoul, Tokyo and Atlanta, whose hushed, bilingual club tracks made her one of dance music's most distinctive voices. Released on XL, it turns on anger, treating rage as fuel for change rather than something to bury, and widens her sound from minimal house into trip-hop, breakbeat and live instrumentation. Loraine James, K Wata, Enayet and Nourished by Time join in, across For Granted, Done (Let's Get It), Passed Me By and the title track. Personal, restless and still built for the dance floor.
